Opiates are divided into synthetically produced substances and naturally obtained opium from the opium poppy. An exception is heroin, which is semi-synthetically produced from raw opium and is widely used in Germany. It has a beige color and is insoluble in water. One gram costs about 20 - 100 euros. Opium and heroin are usually smoked by heating the powder from below on an aluminum leaf and inhaling the vapors with a pipe.
The heroin is dissolved with water and citric acid by heating, then filtered through absorbent cotton or cigarette filters and drawn up. The effects are varied and depend on the user's baseline condition. Heroin is detectable in urine 2 to 3 days after the last use.
