Combined test tamaVet Multi 2TB for dogs and cats
Both the canine parvovirus (CPV2, 2a, 2b, 2c) and the feline panleukopenia virus (FPV) belong to the same virus family. CPV and FPV are highly contagious and most often acute infections (also known as ‘panleukopenia’ in cats). The virus can be found worldwide and the transmission is usually oral or intrauterine. Canine coronavirus (CCoV) and feline coronavirus (FCoV) both belong to the same virus family and occur worldwide. The infections tend to be transmitted orally. As mixed infections often have similar symptoms, such as apathy, anorexia, diarrhoea, dehydration and fever, a combination of both tests is recommended.
The test is suitable for the early detection of an infection with corona and parvoviruses in case of suspicion or clinical symptoms. Since the excretion of parvoviruses may decrease and that of coronaviruses may be interrupted, the test should be repeated after 2 days.
If in doubt, contact a vet immediately and present your pet. If the rapid test shows a positive result, please take the test and the faecal sample to your vet.
